Academic Requirements
- Resume, References and Cover Letter: All applicants must submit a current resume, a list of professional references with contact information (minimum of 3), and a cover letter with their application.
- GMAT/GRE: Applicants with a SHRM certification, a bachelor\'s degree in business from the Haslam College of Business or a master\'s degree in another discipline may request an exemption. Test scores from either the GMAT or GRE are required of all other applicants.
- English Language Proficiency: For applicants whose native language is not English, the TOEFL or the IELTS test is required. Scores must be provided directly by ETS (Educational Testing Service) to the UT Office of Graduate Studies. The MSM&HR requires a minimum score of 600 or 100 on the IBT (minimum of 25 in each category) for the TOEFL or 7.5 for the IELTS. Scores are valid for two years.
- Interview: An interview is required for all applicants and can be conducted via video conference. It offers an opportunity for applicants to discuss their candidacy, differentiate themselves and ask questions to ensure the program is a good fit.
