Academic Requirements

  1. Bachelor degree or equivalent (min. three years or six semesters)
  2. A degree in Information Systems or a similar course with a connection to IT and Economics, etc.
  3. Basic knowledge of the following four fields: information systems (process modelling), IT (data modelling and software development), quantitative methods (operations research, statistics) and business administration
  4. You should also be able to prove that you have the necessary competency in English. No knowledge of German is necessary for the M.Sc. in Information Systems, although it would be very useful for your stay in Münster.
Application procedure
  1. Wait for the start of the application period that applies to you.

  3. Fill the online application form and upload all the required documents in digital form.
  4. If you are an EU applicant, go to step 7. Otherwise continue with step 5 (EU applicants do not need to submit a written application).
  5. Print the PDF document that you can call up and save after completing the online application.
  6. Send all documents (including the printed PDF document) by post to the address given on the PDF document. Please note: All documents must arrive before the end of the application period!
  7. Wait for your result. You will be notified via the application system.

We are also registered for IELTS. The applicant also fulfils the English-language proficiency requirements if English is their native tongue or if they completed their Bachelor degree in an English-speaking country. Note: If a student has studied a course through the medium of English (the language of the course was English), but the course of study was not in an English-speaking country, they must still provide other evidence to demonstrate their English-language proficiency. Required documents The application is only complete when the following documents have been included:
  1. Abitur/A Level certificate, or any other equivalent university admission certificate.
  2. Bachelor degree or a list with courses that includes 140 ECTS (e.g. approx. 75%) of a Bachelor course (if the Bachelor course is yet to be completed).
  3. Performance record or diploma attached. Please calculate the average mark and add a grading scale if the marks were awarded outside Germany.
  4. A detailed course description (not your performance record!) of your Bachelor course. Please make sure that you give the overall average of your marks.
  5. Letter of motivation (around one page) in which you, in particular, write about your preferred track.
  6. CV
  7. A certificate as evidence that your English-language proficiency reaches Level C1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (see above).
  8. Additional documents that demonstrate your special interest or qualification for our Information Systems course.
These documents must be sent to the Student Secretary’s Office before the application deadlines. Documents that arrive after the respective deadlines cannot be considered. Please note that deadlines cannot be extended, not even when the deadline falls on a weekend or bank holiday. If a document is in any language other than English or German, a certified translation must be attached. Please note that the authenticity of all copies or translations of original documents must be confirmed by an authorised institutionwith an official stamp and signature.
