Program Curriculum
In the Master’s programme in Information Technology, you develop theoretical and practical skills for research, development and implementation of computer technology. The basis of the programme is a technical, software-based perspective on information technology in close collaboration with industry. As such, you will require good programming skills.
You obtain in-depth knowledge of computer science for the subject areas data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, edge computing and internet of things, image analysis, big data parallel programming, data mining, digital service innovation, and deep learning. At the same time, you gain experience of project work linked to research and service development, all in an international environment.

Specific eligibility requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in an engineering subject or in computer science.
- Courses in computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering of at least 90 higher education credits, including thesis.
- Courses in mathematics of at least 30 higher education credits or including calculus, linear algebra and transform methods.
- Degrees from other countries than Sweden must be at the same level as a Swedish Bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering.
- Applicants must also have written and verbal command of the English language. This can be proved by grades from English education or by such tests as IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL - paper 530/TOEFL - internet 72 or having received a passing grade in English course A (Swedish upper-secondary school).
- There are further prerequisites for some of the optional courses within the programme.
