Program Curriculum

Course Structure

  1. You will learn through a series of design exercises. You will experiment through trial and error. You will develop rigorous design proposals for specific sites. You will redesign interventions for existing spaces, you will propose temporary structures, you will make models of different materials to test design concepts.
  2. The Programme will be taught in small groups, in a studio format. Exercises will include both individual and group work.
  3. The modules will be taught in the cutting edge workshops of the School, around round-table vivid discussions in the vibrant Studio environment, along visits to the Excel International Exhibition Centre (situated next to our campus), during walks through London\x92s most inspiring galleries and museums, and occasionally over a coffee at East London\x92s designer cafes.
  4. Grasp, understand and discuss verbally and in writing complex design ideas and concepts.
  5. Transform concepts and ideas into resolved design proposals.
  6. Work as part of a team, and also work independently
  7. Develop methods and processes for addressing design problems
  8. Produce a thorough design project and present it through drawings and models of high quality.
  9. Present a design proposal through a range of adequate representational techniques.
  10. Have a professional attitude, ethos, and a desire to always enquire and expand your skills further.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Upper Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • Minimum 2.1 Honours in Interior Design or Architecture
  • We would normally expect you to have Grade C in GCSE English and Maths.\xc2\xa0
  • Applicants without relevant first degrees but who have significant, relevant work experience will be considered for entry and will be subject to an interview.
  • Overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).
