Key Program Features

Master of Business Administration highlights

Leadership Development

The Leadership Development Programme is a structured initiative designed to enhance students’ self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and leadership capabilities. It combines experiential learning, self-reflection, and professional development through three core components: 1. Leadership Residential (Programme Launch) The programme begins with an immersive leadership residential, a dedicated off-site experience that includes team-building activities, intensive leadership workshops, and goal-setting exercises. This residential fosters early cohort bonding, builds trust, and sets the foundation for individual leadership journeys. 2. Psychometric Analysis Students complete a psychometric analysis to gain insight into their personality traits, leadership styles, and interpersonal effectiveness. This assessment serves as a foundation for personalised development plans. 3. Workshops Series A sequence of interactive workshops, led by the Clinton Leadership Institute, focused on critical leadership skills, including communicating effectively, conflict resolution, coaching approach to leadership and developing high performing teams. These sessions often feature role-playing, case studies, and guest speakers, aiming to bridge theory with practical leadership challenges. 4.Reflective Journal Students maintain a personal journal throughout the programme to document experiences, track development, and reflect on key learnings. This promotes continuous self-assessment and reinforces a habit of mindful leadership practice. The leadership programme fosters a cycle of self-discovery, feedback, and practical application, preparing MBA candidates to lead effectively in diverse, dynamic environments. The William J. Clinton Leadership Institute (WJCLI) at Queen’s University Belfast is a renowned executive education centre embedded within Queen’s Business School. Founded in 2011 with a mission rooted in supporting leadership in Northern Ireland’s business transformation journey, it has since developed a global reputation for cultivating impactful leaders.

Industry Links

The MBA programme features strong industry collaboration through a range of high-impact collaborations that support strategic insight and leadership development. Students engage in company visits to gain executive-level perspectives on business operations, work on live consultancy projects that address real organisational challenges, and analyse industry-informed case studies to sharpen decision-making skills. A curated line-up of senior industry speakers and thought leaders enriches the learning experience, ensuring participants are exposed to cutting-edge practices, emerging trends, and valuable networks.

Career Development

Students benefit from a wide range of networking opportunities designed to build professional connections and industry insights. These include regular interactions with guest speakers, alumni panels, and industry leaders through lectures, conferences, and special events. Students also engage in team-based projects, case competitions, and global study tours that foster peer-to-peer learning and cross-cultural collaboration. Students will gain automatic membership of the MBA Association of Ireland granting access to a range of additional networking opportunities, events and inter-university competitions. As part of the MBA programme, career and professional skill development is embedded throughout the student journey, beginning with a goal-setting session during the initial leadership residential.
