Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
At IE School of International Relations, we seek candidates who are dynamic, motivated and creative and who not only demonstrate academic and professional excellence, but who also offer the type of interpersonal skills that will foster integration and drive the maximum learning experience throughout the program.
To initiate your admissions process for the Master in International Relations, you will need to have completed the following:
- A first degree at an accredited college/university or equivalent (candidates may begin their admission process during their last year of studies)
- English language proficiency certificate is required for all non-native English-speaking applicants.
- The application form completed in English.
Language certificate is an important part of the process; however in addition to the language certificate your language level will also be evaluated along the process to check if it follows the requirements needed for the program you are applying for.

This requirement does not apply if you can demonstrate one of the following:
- Two years of work experience in an English speaking country.
- Undergraduate degree completed in English.
Candidates should accompany the admissions application with the following required documentation:
- A one-page curriculum vitae/ rsum.
- 2 recommendation letters.
- 3 essays (please refer to the application form for the topics).
- University transcripts and diploma. We will require official academic transcripts of university studies, which must be translated into English or Spanish; however copies are accepted to initiate the admission process.
- English language Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL, Pearson PTE Academic, IELTS, Cambridge (CAE or CPE).
