- Mental Health Law and Policy - aims to develop an understanding of the legislative and statutory base which underpins the work and practice of the Approved Mental Health Professional.
- Professional Practice Learning - 40 day placement (including 5 study days) in a practice setting, where students are expected to shadow the work of experienced Approved Mental Health Professional with the aim of developing their understanding of the responsibilities of the AMHP role.
- Theory and Interventions in Mental Health Practice - aims to develop the theoretical and knowledge base which underpins work with people experiencing mental health distress, their carers and families.
- Values and Perspectives for Understanding Mental Distress - aims to enhance students understanding of the role of personal, organisational, institutional, social and environmental factors in the development, course, outcome and distribution of mental ill-health.
