Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

We welcome applications from talented candidates of all backgrounds and each application is considered on its individual merit. Usually candidates must hold either a first or a second class UK honours degree in a relevant discipline; or the international equivalent of these UK qualifications; or a professional qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA) and have 5 years\' relevant work experience.

Having taken your application into consideration, the course director may also require you to take GMAT (minimum score 600). The GMAT course code for the MSc in Investment Management is K2H-N3-30.

Exposure to quantitative subjects

Exposure to quantitative subjects (mathematics, statistics, engineering, economics etc.) from previous studies or work experience is essential for this course.

English Language

If you are an international student you will need to provide evidence that you have achieved a satisfactory test result in an English qualification. The minimum standard expected from a number of accepted courses are as follows:

  • IELTS - 6.5, with a minimum of 6.5 in the writing component
  • TOEFL - 92, with a minimum of 21 in the writing component
  • Pearson PTE Academic - 65
  • Cambridge English Scale - 180
  • Cambridge English: Advanced - C
  • Cambridge English: Proficiency - C

In addition to these minimum scores you are also expected to achieve a balanced score across all elements of the test. We reserve the right to reject any test score if any one element of the test score is too low.

We can only accept tests taken within two years of your registration date (with the exception of Cambridge English tests which have no expiry date).

Students requiring a Tier 4 (General) visa must ensure they can meet the English language requirements set out by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and we recommend booking a IELTS for UKVI test.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
