More info Download the flyer Objectives Students expand their previous knowledge and interest in German Studies according to the 4 pillars of the Master programme: – German Medieval StudiesThe literature of the German Middle Ages is considered a reference framework to explore Europe as a cultural area which has historically grown together. – European Cultural HistoryStudents get a deeper understanding of what Europe is and where its origins lie. What does it mean to live in Europe today and live in a globalised world and how does this experience differ from that of previous Europeans? – Literary competencesStudents advance their knowledge in theories and methods of literary studies. A special focus is put on academic writing.– Professional orientationThe module “Employability and Competence Development” which runs through all four semesters gives students valuable insights into various professions connected to their chose field of studies. Program Curriculum
Programme The curriculum covers a full-time two-year programme (120 ECTS) with the final semester being dedicated to a dissertation. Students spend semester 1 at the Universidade do Porto and semester 2 at the University of Luxembourg. During semester 3, they stay at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz and semester 4 at the Universita degli Studi di Palermo. Classes are taught in German. Illustrierung der deutschen Literatur von den Anfängen bis zum Beginn der Neuzeit. Die Vorlesung bietet einen Einblick in elementare Themenkomplexe und Fragestellungen der älteren deutschen Literaturgeschichte. Admissions To apply for a programme at the University of Luxembourg, candidates must comply with the general eligibility criteria for the chosen programme type and be selected by the study programme based on the quality of their application. (semester 2) Format: Full-time programme Specific information for this programme Requirements Bachelor degree or equivalent (180ECTS) in Humanities, which is recognised at all partner universities. The degree must contain at least 50 ECTS or equivalent in the field of German Studies.Applicants are eligible for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship covering travel expenses, visa fees, housing and living costs for 14 months.
