Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Graduate degree applicants must meet the all-university requirements for admission, which include a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 in the last 60 semester units attempted. To be further admitted into the Kinesiology master\'s program, students must also:
- have an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (or equivalent field) with a GPA of at least 3.2 in upper division major coursework;
- complete the Graduate Record Exam general test; recommended scores are as follows: verbal reasoning 450 or above (150 or above if taken after August 1, 2011), quantitative reasoning 450 or above (141 or above if taken after August 1, 2011); analytical writing 3.5 or above.
- submit a 500-word essay describing their academic/professional interests; and
- submit two letters of recommendation, preferably from tenure-track faculty.
