Bachelors degrees that grant direct access
If you hold one of the degrees listed below, you are considered to meet all admission requirements and have direct access to apply to the Masters programme in Landscape Architecture. Learn about when and how to apply.
- BSc in Landscape Architecture from the University of Copenhagen (reserved access*)
- BSc in Architecture from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts
- BSc in Architecture from the School of Architecture
- BSc in Engineering (Architecture and Design with specialisation in Architecture and Urban Design) from Aalborg University
- BSc in Architecture from Aarhus School of Architecture
- Professional BSc in Forest and Landscape Engineering from the University of Copenhagen
- Professional BSc in Urban Landscape Engineering from the Zealand Institute of Business and Technology
- BSc in Natural Resources with the specialisation in Nature Management from the University of Copenhagen
* If your Bachelors degree grants reserved access, you are guaranteed a place on the Masters programme if you apply before the application deadline during the first application period after you complete your Bachelors degree.
Other Bachelors degrees
If you have a Bachelors degree other than those listed above, you must submit additional documentation along with your application so the University can evaluate whether or not you meet the admission requirements.Learn about when and how to apply.
Applicants with other Bachelors degrees will be assessed and prioritised according to the following criteria, by an admissions committee. The criteria reflect the skills, which are essential prerequisites to compete the Masters programme. The final decision will be based on an assessment in which the following subject areas from previous courses are weighted by the following factors:
- Design competences approximating to those of a Bachelor student in landscape architecture, architecture, or design with a minimum of 60 ECTS credits within design courses such as the SCIENCE courses
- Planning & Design
- Draughting and Design
- Design Methods and IT Tools
- Urban Planning Strategy and Project
- Plants and Technology
- Knowledge of Ecology from courses corresponding to at least 15 ECTS credits such as the SCIENCE courses
- Process in Nature 1 The Living Soil
- Ecology, Ecology
- Garden and Botany of Landscape Plants
- Plants and Technology
- Plant Design
- Knowledge of Philosophy and Science or Academic Writing corresponding to 7.5 ECTS credits.
Or
- Alternatively, the applicant may submit an annotated electronic portfolio of design projects/artwork of max 15 pages demonstrating an ability to design with IT tools such as Adobe, CAD ad/or 3D programs.
- Knowledge of Ecology from courses corresponding to at least 15 ECTS credits such as the SCIENCE courses
- Process in Nature 1 The Living Soil

- Knowledge of Philosophy and Science or Academic Writing corresponding to 7.5 ECTS credits.
In addition, you may be admitted, if you after an individual assessment,
are deemed to possess educational/academic qualifications equivalent to the
requirements listed above.
A submitted portfolio will be included in the assessment of your applicationIt is recommended that you submit an annotated electronic portfolio of design projects or artwork of 15 pages to demonstrate your ability to design with IT tools such as Adobe, CAD ad/or 3D programs. A submitted portfolio will always be taken into account in the assessment of your application and might strengthen your application.
