Course Structure
- Theoretical Approaches to Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studie
- The Political Economy of Educational Planning and Development
- History of Brazil
- Under the first option, students will be required to translate a 500-word text into English from Spanish, Portuguese or French. Students may use a dictionary and will be alotted two hours to complete the examination, which will be administered in the offices of LACS.
- Under the second option, students are required to obtain a minimum grade of B in a third year level undergraduate or graduate course taught in an accredited higher education institution. With the approval of the graduate advisor, students may enroll in a language course on any languages (except English), including indigeneous languages, that are widely used in Latin America and the Caribbean.
