Academic Requirements

Applicants for a Master Degree (Research) are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards. Applicants require a Bachelor Degree with a strong academic performance and may also require relevant substantial work experience or Bachelor Honours Degree (first or second class) or Graduate Diploma. Any specific course entry and completion requirements must also be met.

Specifically, applicants rquire a recognised Bachelor of Engineering at honours standard. The School is prepared to consider applications from other well qualified honours graduates in science who are able to present acceptable evidence of promise to undertake research projects. In such cases, admission may be granted by the Western Australian School of Mines Graduate Studies Committee, but may also be subject to successful completion of a prescribed qualifying program.
