Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

All students must apply for admission to candidacy through their graduate advisor. A candidacy form will be completed and filed\nwith the advisor and a form will be filed with the Graduate Office. Admission to candidacy occurs when the student has completed a\nminimum of 15 credits. Students must have completed the three professional education core courses (EDUC 603, 606, 640) as part of\nthis admission process and 6 credits within the program concentration.  Transfer courses are not counted toward the 15-18 credits unless\nthey are accepted as equivalent courses, and then the grades are not calculated in the GPA. The advisor and the program coordinator\nhave the right to require that a student remediate deficiencies, even if that requires extra courses or to require that a student no longer\nbe enrolled in the program based on the student’s aptitude and professional growth and potential. The student has the right to appeal\nto the Educational Professions Graduate Leadership Team and, if the student is no longer enrolled, he or she may reapply to the program\nafter one year.
