Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • Submit\xc2\xa0online Graduate School application\xc2\xa0and non-refundable application fee;
  • Satisfactory completion of writing sample as prescribed by the M.Ed. program director. In the online application you will be provided with the writing prompts and a place to upload your writing sample;
  • Submit a copy of your current South Carolina Department of Education Class III Professional Certificate or the equivalent from another state. This should be uploaded in your online application;
  • Submit official transcripts of all undergraduate work reflecting a preferred minimum undergraduate grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Official transcripts should be sent directly to Winthrop University from the issuing institution(s);
  • English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
