Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Program-Specific Requirements:
  • An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or above in education and a teaching certificate; completion of undergraduate GPA deficiencies
  • A valid teaching certificate (the master\'s degree does not lead to initial teaching certification)
  • UNO College of Education\'s "Personal and Professional Fitness" form
  • International students who do not expect to teach in the US may be eligible for admission. Please contact the program chair for more information.
  • Candidates are admitted provisionally until completion and successful evaluation of formal admission materials. Submitted materials are reviewed to determine if the candidate\xc2\x92s status will be changed to fully admitted after successful completion of 12 graduate hours. The formal admission process replaces the admission exam.
