Our Finance and Management (MSc) course is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in general management either in an established business, the public sector, or as an entrepreneur, while gaining a detailed knowledge of the finance function of the organisation. Our suite of finance Masters programmes are uniquely multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary. They bring together expertise from the School for Business and Society , the Department of Mathematics , and the Department of Economics and Related Studies .

Program Curriculum
Course content
You'll take a range of core and optional modules grounded in real-world behaviour, so you'll develop a rigorous understanding of how to strategically allocate financial resources, and how private and public sector organisations can gain funding from financial markets.
You'll develop confidence in organisational decision-making, and study a variety of relevant mathematical and statistical methods applicable to industry and academia.
In your final semester, you'll undertake an independent research project where you can apply your knowledge to a real-world finance-focused business problem.
Modules Research project Modules Core modules: You will take core modules which may include: Strategy and Strategic Management Corporate Finance and Governance Quantitative Methods in Finance Risk in Corporate Context Strategy in Global Organisations Option modules: You will also study one option module. In previous years, options have covered such topics as: International Business Management and Emerging Markets Case Studies in Strategic Management Financial Statement Analysis Management and Sustainability The options available to you will be confirmed later in the year. For further information please get in touch . Our modules may change to reflect the latest academic thinking and expertise of our staff, and in line with Department/School academic planning. Research project Individual Research Project You'll complete a piece of independent research of up to 8,000 words, carried out over three months of the summer. It will offer you the chance to examine a topic in depth and to develop your academic research skills.

Entry requirements

| Undergraduate degree | 2.2 in a related subject, such as Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting or Maths. We may also accept degrees from different subjects if there is some content in statistics in your degree. |
| Other qualifications and experience | If you do not meet our advertised entry requirements, we may consider your application if you have a minimum of three years of relevant senior managerial-level working experience or a relevant professional qualification such as the CFA Level 1 or the ACCA |
