  2. COPD Diagnosis and Management \x96 This theoretical module will also consider other chronic disorders such as, bronchiectasis, empyema and interstitial disease. It is delivered fully online or as blended learning. The module has been designed to provide the healthcare professional with enhanced knowledge to deliver high-quality, culturally aware, evidence-based care to patients suffering from chronic respiratory disorders. It will equip the student to be proactive in the instigation, critical evaluation and manipulation of therapeutic interventions. The module is suitable for all nurses and allied healthcare professionals working within acute and primary care both locally and internationally.
  3. Asthma: Diagnosis and Treatment \x96 This module has been designed to provide the healthcare professional with the knowledge and skills required to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients suffering from Asthma. It will equip practitioners to be proactive in the instigation, critical evaluation and manipulation of therapeutic interventions. The module is suitable for practitioners working within acute and primary care.
  4. Independent Study for Professional Practice \x96 This module is designed to provide an opportunity for independent study where the student can critically analyse an area of relevant clinical practice and provide evidence and recommendations for development/improvement.

Candidates must be able to satisfy the general admission requirements of the University of the West of Scotland as specified in Section 6 of the University Regulatory Framework together with the following programme requirements: candidates must be appropriately registered practitioners e.g. registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council [NMC] or the Health Care Professions Council [HCPC].
