Course Structure

  1. [\'30 ECTS credits among the General Competence Courses at DTU\', \'30 ECTS credits among the Technology Specialization Courses at DTU\', \'20 ECTS specialization courses chosen from a list of approved courses at EPFL\', "master\'s thesis of 30 ECTS credits at EPFL", \'electives chosen from a list of approved courses at EPFL to bring the total number of ECTS credits of the entire study up to 120 ECTS credits.\', \'compulsory and specific SIE courses at EPFL totalling 23+25 = 48 ECTS credits.\', \'12 ECTS courses at EPFL from an approved list of specialization courses.\', \'20 ECTS credits among the Technological specialization courses at DTU\', "Master\'s thesis of at least 30 ECTS credits at DTU", \'electives chosen from a list of approved courses at DTU to bring the total number of ECTS credits of the entire study up to 120 ECTS credits\', \'students must obtain thirty (30) ECTS in one of three specializations proposed by EPFL. Degree requirements

The 1:1 programme applies to EPFL students in the MSc programme in Environmental Sciences and Engineering and DTU students in the MSc programme in Environmental Engineering. The programme targets students:

  • Who have successfully finished a BSc Eng degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar programme obtained from EPFL or DTU
  • Are well versed in the English language and fulfil the language requirements of each partner institution.

To enter the 1:1 MSc programme, students have to be admitted to the relevant MSc programme at their home institution. Students apply during the last semester of their undergraduate programme. The deadline for receiving applications at the partner institution is 1 April if you wish to start in the autumn semester.

As part of their application for the 1:1 MSc programme, students are asked to prepare a study plan. The study plan must be approved by both programme coordinators.
