Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Undergraduate academic record:
- Regular Admission: An overall 3.0 GPA is required as well as a 3.0 major GPA. A cumulative GPA on the last 60 hours from all institutions of our applicants has ranged from 3.0 to 4.0.
- Conditional Admission: The cumulative GPA of the last 60 hours from all institutions is usually 2.75 or better. Students admitted on conditional admission status must take their first nine semester hours of graduate level course work in the School of Mass Communication and Journalism and earn a 3.0 GPA on all coursework taken while completing the nine-hour requirement.
