A large por­tion of the learn­ing pro­cess takes place out­side of class, so you should be pre­pared to spend some time read­ing be­fore the start of the pro­gramme and pre­par­ing for classes dur­ing the pro­gramme.

Class at­tend­ance

There are different requirement for attendance to different types of courses:

  • 2-week courses: re­quires you to at­tend at least 80% of the class ses­sions.
  • 3-week and 6-week courses: class at­tend­ance is not man­dat­ory in these courses. How­ever CBS Sum­mer Uni­ver­sity is a very in­tens­ive pro­gramme, so we strongly re­com­mend that you at­tend and act­ively par­ti­cip­ate in all classes.

Feed­back Act­iv­ity

Feedback is a part of all courses. 

Depending on the course the feedback will be:

  • feedback for all students: based on a test, quiz, group presentation etc.
  • individual feedback: in courses with a project exam or home assignment, you will get an approval of your research question for the project or assignment.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

You are qualified for (but not guaranteed) admission to this programme if you:

A) fulfil the language requirement, and
B) fulfil the general entry requirement of having a bachelor degree

The specific entry requirements are\xc2\xa0min. 30 ECTS-points\xc2\xa0within one or more of the following areas:

  • Business administration (e.g. innovation/entrepreneurship; management; marketing; organisation; accounting; statistics; finance; strategy; and the like)
  • Social science methodology (incl. philosophy of science, research design, applied methods, qualitative methods, quantitative\xc2\xa0methods, mixed methods or the like)
  • Politics in general (incl. political science, political theory, international politics, international political economy, international relations or the like)
  • Culture/society studies with a focus on one or more East Asian countries (incl. sociology, social studies, public administration, anthropology, development studies, law, psychology, culture studies, area studies, history, philosophy)
  • Economics (incl. economic theory, microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, or the like)

The programme has a limited number of places; if there are more applicants fulfilling the entry requirements than places available, a selection of applicants will take place.
