The Master of Education in Health Sciences Education (MHSE) is designed for health professionals or health professional educators working full time in a wide number of disciplines. You will integrate your area(s) of interest throughout your studies and explore the challenges and opportunities associated with health professional education. This program covers foundational theory in the areas of educational pedagogy, education research and interprofessional leadership that can be readily applied in the health professional workplace. To optimize the learning experience, the program is cohort-based. Students come from medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nutrition, respiratory therapy, physiotherapy, nursing, speech-language pathology and paramedicine — to name a few — diversity which supports rich learning conversations and insights about HSE. Length of Program The maximum time to complete the course-based MHSE program as set by the Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies is six years. The maximum time to complete the thesis-based MHSE program as set by the Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies is four years.
