Program Overview

The programme of studies focuses on the applications of analysis and testing in an industrial environment, as well as good laboratory practices and total quality management, all with particular focus on the pharmaceutical industry. The programme also deals with pharmacology, toxicology and pharmacognosy, and through an appreciation of the global pharmaceutical industry, gives insight into the R&D process, regulatory affairs, pharmaceutical process technology, good scientific practice and the role of the Qualified Person (QP). Career Opportunities

As a holder of the M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry, you will be able to enter a career as an analytical chemist, production chemist, laboratory supervisor, chemical engineering, teacher and researcher. The option of enrolling in a doctorate study is available in an institution of your choice if you would like to further your studies, provided you meet the required criteria to do so.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be in possession of: Refer to the list of country-specific qualifications a degree in Science with Chemistry as a main area of study obtained with Second Class (Honours) or better or a degree in Pharmacy obtained with Second Class (Honours) or better or a degree obtained with Second Class (Honours) or better in an area of study that is deemed relevant by the Board. Applicants with a degree in Science with Chemistry as a main area of study obtained with Third Class (Honours) may be admitted if they show evidence of significant experience in work relevant to the area of study of the Course obtained after their first cycle degree.
