Program Curriculum
Course Structure
- The Master of Social Service curriculum is comprised of foundation-year theoretical and practice courses, advanced-year practice courses, 3 units of electives, and 4 units of field education. Course units for earning the MSS degree must total 18.
- The GSSWSR offers both full-time and part-time plans of study to meet the individual\x92s life circumstances. The admissions requirements and procedures are the same for full-time and part-time students.
- All incoming students begin their course of study in the fall semester. The full-time plan of study allows students to complete the program in two years; the part-time plan allows students to complete the program in three years. Foundation courses are taken during the first year of part-time study, and the practice courses, field education, and electives are taken during the second and third years. Practice seminars and concurrent field education must be taken in consecutive years. Students must carry a minimum of two courses per semester to be eligible for financial aid.
