[\'Scholarships for Post-Graduates at Bonn University\', "The Bonn International Graduate School in Mathematics (BIGS) awards particular qualifying scholarships of 800 Euros per month for a period of two years to a small number of excellent candidates. These scholarships are intended to attract students with an excellent Bachelor\'s degree in mathematics from outside Germany who wish to enter a preparatory phase for our PhD programme. There is the option of completing a regular Master\'s degree in this context, if desired. The courses taken in the preparatory phase - all taught in English - can be applied toward a Master\'s degree.There is an extremely limited number of these scholarships, which will be offered to the best applicants of our Master\'s program. Formally, the applications of a chosen candidate have to meet the requirements for a PhD application."]

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

For being admitted to our Master\'s program in Mathematics, you have to:

  • hold a Bachelor\'s degree in Mathematics or an equivalent degree with good grades (comparable to the German grade 2.5 or better)
  • prove that you earned 120 ECTS credit points from mathematical modules and
  • prove your knowledge in the English language.

Non-EU applicants can be invited for a qualifying test.
