Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Australian & NZ students

You must have an honours-level four-year bachelor degree with excellent academic standing preferably in a petroleum engineering discipline from a recognised university. You must also demonstrate considerable research experience in areas relevant to upstream petroleum engineering.

If you successfully complete a Master of Petroleum Engineering from Curtin with higher academic standing, you may apply for the Master of Engineering Science in Petroleum Engineering and receive credit for recognised learning for all common units (subjects studied in the first 18 months are the same for both master degrees).

Please note: entry into this course is competitive.

International students

IELTS: 6.5

Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): Grade C

Pearson Test of English Academic: 58

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
