Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
MSc:
- Current registration with the relevant professional/regulatory body
- An undergraduate Honours degree or equivalent
- Extensive experience within the specialised area of clinical practice, demonstrating abilities in clinical, research, leadership and management fields which would normally be achieved through at least five years post-registration clinical practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Enhanced up-to-date CRB disclosure
Successful candidates will also require the support of their line manager and Designated Supervising Medical Practitioner (DSMP) in order to access the programme, as the student will need to accrue clinical hours working alongside their DSMP.
PgCert:
In addition to the above, those who are applying for the PgCert only must have already achieved an MSc in Advanced Practice or equivalent, to be judged on an individual basis against set criteria including:
- Whether the MSc degree held remains relevant to current specialist area practice
- Whether the MSc degree held included a comparable research component, and clinically focused modules
English Language Requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English or Welsh must satisfy the English Language requirements for entry to the University by attainment of a minimum IELTS overall score of 6.5.
