Course Structure

  1. Module 1 Basic Neurobiology: a set of lectures introduces the basic elements of neurobiology to students of different academic backgrounds.

  5. Module 5 Advanced Problems and Topics in Neuroscience: based on specific examples from recently published or classical work, students deepen their understanding and knowledge gained in the core modules Basic Neurobiology, Neuropathophysiology and Clinical Neuroscience.
  6. Module 6 Clinical Neuroscience: based on the material covered previously (Basic Neurobiology/ Neuropathophysiology), this module is heavily devoted to the clinical manifestations of pathophysiological changes in the nervous system.
  7. Module 7 Academic Writing and Publishing: prepares students for the successful completion of their thesis and future publications.
  8. Module 8 Experimental Design: prepares for the experimental side of the Master thesis.
  9. Module 9 Thesis: the entire 4th semester is dedicated to the thesis, prompting students to integrate gained knowledge and skills necessary for a future in science.

In order to be eligible for admission, students have to meet the following formal criteria:

Proficiency in English (IELTS min. Band 6.5, TOEFL paper min. 580, TOEFL computer min. 237, TOEFL internet min. 92)

MSc Program

  • A first degree in medicine, Psychology or natural sciences (BSc, MBBS, Medical Doctor, Diplom or international equivalent)
  • One year of practical experience (e.g. work in a lab, studying abroad, internship, 1st job after graduation, experimental Bachelor thesis, etc.)

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
