As a student in the Master’s Programme in Medical Research, you will be well prepared for a future in research and development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, as well as in academic research environments. The programme also provides an excellent foundation for careers in other sectors, such as government agencies, science journalism, or education. With a strong emphasis on critical thinking and both oral and written communication in scientific and popular science contexts, you will gain broad competence in handling biomedical and bioinformatic challenges. The majority of our alumni continue their careers in academic settings, contributing knowledge and experience from their Master’s studies in fields such as biomedicine, neuroscience, bioinformatics, and medical genetics. According to alumni, the opportunity to choose research projects based on personal interests has been a key factor in shaping their career paths and securing employment. Many have continued within the same research area and under the mentorship of their project supervisors, often finding their future employers before or within six months after graduation.
