Course Structure
- Part-time \x96 typically 12-24 months for each award stage, plus a dissertation for masters
- Full-time \x96 typically nine months for each award stage.
- The postgraduate certificate (PgCert) is achieved by successfully completing 60 credits.
- The postgraduate diploma (PgDip) is achieved by successfully completing 120 credits.
- The masters (MSc) award is achieved by successfully completing 180 credits.
Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
This course is open to health professionals using ultrasound in diagnosis. It is an in-service course and you must be employed in a clinical setting or have written agreement for appropriately supervised clinical placement. We are not responsible for finding clinical placements for students.
Students accepted onto the full-time course will be commissioned places and therefore not in full-time employment. Students studying the full-time PgCert will be allocated a clinical placement. There are a limited number of places for the full-time course and competition is high.
We consider each candidate individually according to their ability to meet the demands of the programme. Normal entry requirements for the part-time course are one of the following
- \xc2\x95 a pass degree in radiography or equivalent professional qualification
- \xc2\x95 Diploma of the College of Radiographers (DCR) or equivalent professional qualification and proven ability to cope with the academic demands of postgraduate study
Full-time students are required to have a minimum of a 2:1 in a relevant health profession degree.
We normally expect you to be state registered or have evidence of relevant academic and clinical expertise.
This course is only open to home or EU students. We are currently not accepting applications from international students.
