Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Applicants for the programmes must hold the MBChB degree or equivalent medical qualification that is acceptable to the Aga Khan University and the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB) or the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT). They must be registered or be eligible for registration with the KMPDB or MCT and must have completed one year of internship

Applicants for Residency MUST first complete an online application form. A summary generated once all the required information has been provided should be printed out and sent to the university by mail or courier, alongside the following mandatory documents:

  • Letter of application supporting intention to enter a specific programme

  • Detailed curriculum vitae

  • Two colour passport size photographs (name on the back and firmly attached to letter of application)

  • Certified copies of medical school transcripts and degrees held

  • Certificate of internship or letter from medical superintendent of internship station

  • License or temporary license where applicable of your local medical regulatory board/council

  • Annual Retention Certificate (practicing doctors) or receipt as proof of payment of retention fees in roll of doctors

  • The original bank slip as proof of payment of a non-refundable application fee to the account indicated in the advertisement.
