Academic Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from a university, equivalent to the level of a Dutch academic bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge, understanding and skills comparable to those acquired upon graduating from the Bachelor’s programme in English Language and Culture from Leiden University.
  • Sufficient command of English (IELTS 7.5, TOEFL 113 (internet-based) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); a minimum score of IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 25 is required for each of the four components). The requirement to provide an English language test result applies to all students who have completed a Bachelor’s programme other than the Bachelor’s programme English Language and Culture from Leiden University
  • Applicants with a bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences (HBO) in English will be admitted after completing the pre-master’s programme.

English Proficiency: IELTS 7.5 or equivalent.
