Program Curriculum
Course Structure
- Students who pursue the Thesis Track in Music Education must prepare a thesis proposal in order to complete their degree. Once their Thesis Proposal is completed, students must defend it before a committee composed of graduate music faculty and staff members. Students will be expected to give evidence of their extensive knowledge of related literature, research materials used, methodological steps taken, as well as findings documented.
- Students who pursue the Non-Thesis Track must prepare a project proposal and have it approved by both the faculty project sponsor and graduate faculty committee. The project may be curriculum, pedagogical, or creativity based, and should be comparable to a thesis in scope.

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.5 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
