- Compulsory modules: Composition seminar, Analytical Techniques, Individual Research Project
- Optional module: Analytical Techniques can be replaced by Individually negotiated topics, Critical Practice or modules from other music pathways or another Humanities MA programme

- Optional modules: Analytical Techniques can be replaced by negotiated topics or modules from other music pathways or another Humanities MA programme

Academic Requirements
Degree
First- or upper second-class honours degree, or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University in Music or a cognate discipline
English language entry requirements:
- MMus Musicology & Composition - IELTS 7.0 overall, with minimum of 7.0 in writing, 6.5 in reading, listening and speaking, or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University.
- MMus performance - IELTS 6.5 overall, with minimum of 6.5 in reading and writing, 6.0 in listening and speaking, or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University.

- MMus (Musicology Pathway) \xc2\x96 Two samples of written work, between 1500 and 2500 words each, on musicological questions of your choosing
- MMus (Composition Pathway) - A sample of 4-6 composition pieces, totalling 40-60 minutes of music.
- MMus (Performance Pathway) - A sample of recorded performance
English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
