Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

Graduates of the Certificate in Accounting will have fulfilled the entry requirements for Economics (Micro & Macro), Statistics, and Business Law toward the Schulich School of Business Diploma in Intermediate Accounting, provided they meet additional requirements.

To be admitted to the Post-Graduate Certificate in Accounting, applicants must have:
  • a baccalaureate degree with a minimum of a C/60% average or a Canadian college diploma with a B/70% average (or equivalent)
  • official transcripts (International students: please provide original English translated copy of university degree and transcripts)
  • completed online application form
  • proof of language proficiency (International students only)
Language Proficiency
  • An IELTS score of 6.5 (or equivalent) is required to be admitted in this program.
  • All international students in the full-time program will be required to successfully complete the Canadian Academic and Business English and Mastering Canadian Business pre-requisites, that are included in the international full-time tuition. These courses are designed to ensure you have the linguistic and cultural background you need to be successful in the Certificate program.
  • If your IELTS score is 6.0, we have designed a special program which includes registration in an English Language Academic Program level 6 offering before attending the Academic & Business English and Mastering Canadian Business Courses at a discounted tuition.
  • If your IELTS score is less than 6.0, please contact us. English language preparation courses are available with savings offered if purchased as a package.
