Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

To be eligible to apply to this graduate nursing concentration, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a bachelor prepared nurse, having earned a BSN in nursing with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for your baccalaureate degree and any subsequent graduate work
  • Be a Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license, having a minimum of two years full time experience post BSN at the time of admission review
  • Provide evidence of no criminal history record on file from both a Federal Bureau of Investigation and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (or applicable state) for background check. Please be aware that background checks may take up to 30 days to process. It is your benefit to complete the background check on month prior to the College of Nursing and Health application deadline. Background checks can be done in the Educational Resource Center at 116 Allyn Hall.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6 or equivalent.
