Academic Requirements
Standard Entry
Students on this programme may come from both psychology and non psychology backgrounds. Students who are intending to pursue a career as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist should possess a first or upper second class degree in Psychology that must provide the Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) (previously known as Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR)) with the British Psychological Society.We also have students complete the programme from non-psychology backgrounds such as human resource management, organisational development, coaching and consultancy. Typically students should possess a first or upper second class degree, however relevant work experience would also be considered.Plus one of the following:
International/English Language Requirements:International applicants are required to have one of the following English language qualifications with grades as shown below.- A British Council International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5 (or above) with a minimum score in each component of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking of 6.0
- Pearson Academic score of 62 (or above) with a minimum score in each component of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking of 54.

Additional:For applicants who are intending to pursue a career as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist are required to provide written proof of GBC/GBR status from their UK University. Applicants who have completed their first degree outside the UK are required to apply to the BPS for consideration of GBC/GBR. Written confirmation of GBC/GBR will be required. Please bear in mind that this process can take a considerable amount of time and relevant applicants should contact the BPS as soon as possible.English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
