Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
- Completion of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Applicants must have a minimum overall cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) for their undergraduate degree, and a GPA of 3.2 for prerequisite courses (effective 2014 application year).
- Completion and submission of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) by November 1st of your application year. Applicants may only submit GRE scores that are from tests taken within the last five (5) years. The MINIMUM GRE requirements are a Verbal Reasoning score of 146, Quantitative Reasoning Score of 140 and 4.0 on the Analytical Writing.
- Completion of all prerequisite courses prior to enrollment in the program.
- Eighty percent (80%) of the prerequisite courses must be completed by December 31st of the year of application.
- Applicants must acquire a minimum of 20 hours of verified contact with one registered occupational therapist (OTR). Additional observation hours in other areas of clinical practice are advisable. See Document of Experience form on the Application for Admission page.
- Completion of an application is required through the centralized process at OTCAS. See application instructions for directions. An essay, supplemental information, and an interview may also be required.
- Computer literacy is required of all students in the program. Specifically, students are expected to be proficient in word processing, spreadsheet management, internet navigation, and e-mail procedures. Student must have access to internet.
