Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
This course is not suitable for applicants already holding a qualification in occupational therapy.
Other requirements: All students are required to purchase professional indemnity insurance. In order to go on practice placements, a health clearance check and joining the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be required. There will be additional costs incurred for the applicant for these processes. International students or home and EU students who want to work internationally will have to undertake additional CPD studies to meet the competencies required in order to register for the National Board exams. There will be additional costs incurred for the applicant for these processes.
International: International applicants with an ordinary degree will be considered if their degree is comparable to a UK honours degree. You will be required to take an IELTS test and achieve an aggregated grade of 6.5 or above, with at least 6.0 in each band. In order to be eligible to register with the HCPC, you will be required to be able to communicate in English to the standard equivalent to level 7, with no element below 6.5.
Criminal records check: A satisfactory criminal records check will be required.
English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
