Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
Admission requirements:
The students holding a BSc degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (LEGI) from IST, do not need to apply to the Master degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (MEGI) since they have guaranteed access to the Master Program.
The Students holding a complete 1st cycle (a Bachelor with 5 years (before Bologna) or a Bachelor with 3 years (after Bologna)), in IST or in another University can apply to MEGI.
- Selection criteria
As minimum access criterion, candidates must have a minimum score of entry: 12 out of 20 points.
Students applying for the MEGI are ranked by the coordination team considering the following criteria:
- Affinity between their scientific background (from the BSc level) and the 2nd cycle program they are applying for;
- Nature of the degree they hold;
- Classifications held along their academic record (translated into an MFC value).
The calculation of the classification C of the candidate is done through the formula bellow:
C = (0.4 x "Affinity" + 0.3 x "Nature"/5 + 0.3 x MFC/200) x 200
MFC is the final course average grade of the student on a scale of 0-200, "Afinity" is a number in the interval between 0 and 1, where "Nature" could take the values of, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
