Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Lower Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Lower Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Normally applicants will possess a minimum 2:2 honours primary degree (Level 8 -\xc2\xa0National Qualifications Authority of Ireland)\xc2\xa0in a relevant discipline (For example, business, finance, economics, social science and mathematics).\xc2\xa0 However, students from cognate backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.\xc2\xa0 In the case of international students, the overseas equivalent as determined by the Course Team in consultation with UL Graduate School Admissions will be acceptable.\xc2\xa0 Where candidates are non-native English language speakers, the candidate should meet the University\'s English language requirements.\xc2\xa0 In exceptional circumstances an applicant who cannot satisfy the undergraduate requirement may be accepted on the basis of relevant professional experience.
