Academic Requirements
Prior education
You are eligible for admission to the programme if you have obtained a relevant Bachelors or undergraduate degree from a research university in the following fields of studies:
- Child and family studies;
- Child development;
- Education;
- Pedagogy;
- Psychology.
- Students with a Bachelors in other related fields of social and/or behavioural sciences may also be eligible to apply if they have a well-balanced combination of various credentials.
Considering the different understanding and treatment of pedagogy-related concepts and in attempt to provide an indication of the required background, a potential candidate is expected to have obtained:
- at least 10 ECTS with social science methodology and statistics;
- at least basic SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) skills;
- at least 15 ECTS in courses related to education, pedagogy, child and family studies or child development
- ethical and professional knowledge and skills.

Exemptions
You might be exempted from presenting the proof of English proficiency if:
- You are a native English speaker (i.e. a national of one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States of America) and you have obtained a diploma of secondary education in English for at least 2,5 years in one of the above countries and/or
- You have obtained a diploma of International Baccalaureate (valid for 5 years) and/or
- You have obtained your diploma of higher education in English (the entire programme).
Please mind that in case you believe that you qualify for exemption you need to present a proof thereof. If you have obtained your diploma of higher education in English we need to see a written proof of it in the form of either a passage in the diploma, grade list, or a letter from the university stating that the language of instruction was English.
Motivation and International Orientation
In a reasonable amount of detail (1 A4) explain your motivation by:
- Providing reasons for applying to the programme; in specific why you choose for one of the specialisations. Please mention specifically the name of the specialisation in the subject of the letter.
- Demonstrating relevant knowledge, experience and affinity with the field of studies (also supported by means of your resume);
- Telling us about your plans for the future.
Academic Performance
In addition to the credentials mentioned above, the Admissions Board will also take into account your academic performance, i.e. your grades.
