Periodontics

Dalhousie University's Master of Science in Periodontics program focuses on comprehensive patient evaluation, precise diagnosis and treatment planning, and the application of scientifically supported treatment methods. The program provides you with a variety of clinical experiences, emphasizing thorough patient evaluation and accuracy in diagnosis and treatment planning. You will be trained to manage patients in need of treatment for a variety of periodontal diseases and mucogingival defects, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), dental implant therapy, and conscious sedation. The completion of a research thesis is also a requirement for this degree. Graduates of this program are eligible to write the National Dental Specialty Exam and fellowship exams for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontics and the American Board of Periodontology Diplomate Exams.
