Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Lower Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Entry Requirements
- You\xc2\x92ll need to be committed to becoming the best teacher you can be. You need all the basic requirements for admission to a PGCE:
- A good honours degree at 2.2 or above, preferably with at least 50% of the degree modules relating to the PGCE subject. Relevant experience and A Level qualifications will also be considered.
- English, maths and science at GCSE (grade C or above) or equivalent, for Primary and 7-14
- To have passed the government\xc2\x92s skills tests in literacy and numeracy
- Candidates invited for interview need to demonstrate sufficient subject knowledge and be prepared to undertake a Subject Knowledge Enhancement course before the start of the programme, if appropriate.
- In addition to the academic requirements, you should also have some recent experience in a primary school in a voluntary or work capacity (work with young people in other contexts is also desirable). You\xc2\x92ll need to draw on your experiences at interview in order to demonstrate your suitability for this course.
