Academic Requirements
You need the following GPA score:
Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.8 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
Bachelor\'s Degree
The Program doesn\'t require the degree to be from a specific major, however the majority of students enter the program with degrees from science majors including Biology, Chemistry, and General Science. We have also accepted competitive applicants with bachelor\'s degree in Psychology, English, History, Art History, Communications, and many other majors. In general, applicants with limited science credits will need to obtain them as a post-baccalaureate student.Prerequisite Overview
Required courses must be taken at regionally accredited community colleges or universities. We accept both upper and lower division credits to meet specific prerequisite courses. The prerequisites with accompanying required labs should be taken on-campus, not online. Specifically, the A&P with lab requirement will not be accepted if taken as an online course or online lab. A&P with lab must be taken in person. Science prerequisites not requiring labs, Psychology and Statistics, can be taken online from accredited institutions. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8. (Note that the average for students admitted this past admissions cycle was 3.51).If using AP (Advanced Placement) or IB (International Baccalaureate) credit for biology, chemistry, psychology, or statistics requirements, the AP/IB credit must show on an official transcript from the community college or university accepting the AP/IB credit to be eligible for meeting the prerequisite for OHSU.Tuition & Financial Information
