The program goals of the Physician Assistant Studies Program are:
- To exceed the U.S. national average first time pass rate on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE).
- To provide student clinical education opportunities in diverse and medically underserved areas/populations.
- To demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service by faculty.
- Provide longitudinal educational experiences in evidence-based medicine (EBM) and quality improvement and patient safety (QI/PS).

Academic Requirements
After you submit your application, please send these items to CASPA:
- Three letters of recommendation from health care professionals you\xc2\x92ve worked with, professors, employers, community leaders, and other people who know you and your abilities
- Original transcripts from all of the colleges you\xc2\x92ve attended
- Your official GRE scores by September 1. (Scores are acceptable within five years of taking the exam.) Our GRE school code is 6686.
- Transcripts by February 1 for any prerequisite courses you completed in the fall semester
- TOEFL scores if you\xc2\x92re an international student
- Quality and quantity of academic preparation; the typical candidate has earned a bachelor\xc2\x92s degree with more than 50 hours of science courses, with a science and overall required grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale
- Hands-on patient care experience
- Evidence of service and leadership, including awards and honors
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic letters of reference
- A mature, insightful essay
