You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Admission Requirements:

The following minimum coursework requirements must be met prior to enrollment in the program:

  • One year of Biology
  • One semester of Statistics AND one semester of Organic Chemistry, Genetics OR Ecology
  • GPA: 3.0
  • GRE test scores for applicants applying to Fall quarter 2017 may not be older than September 1, 2015.
  • GRE (general, new version): 160 verbal/148 quantitative/4.5 analytical writing
  • TOEFL: 577 (paper-based); 233 (computer-based); 90 (internet-based)
  • Two letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with your academic and research achievements.
  • General GRE scores. These may be waived if you already have a graduate degree in the sciences.
  • For applicants whose native language is not English, you must also submit TOEFL scores that are less than two years old.
  • Current resume or CV.
  • Students are required to present the results of original research in the form of a written thesis to a faculty committee as part of completion of the degree. It is strongly recommended that all applicants contact any faculty members with whom they may be interested in working, so that they have a better idea about opportunities and how their interests fit with the program. The strongest applications often come from individuals that have spoken with one or more faculty members in advance of submitting their application. It is not required that you identify an advisor before being admitted.
