UNCG has experienced academic advisers who can help you plan your academic program and answer your questions about the various aspects of applying to medical school. When you have enrolled in the Pre-Medicine program of study, you will be assigned a member of the UNCG Health Careers Advisory Committee as a secondary adviser, in addition to your academic adviser, whom you should seek out and meet with frequently. UNCG\xc2\x92s Health Careers Advisory Committee for pre-professional programs in medicine is comprised of faculty from the biology, chemistry and biochemistry, psychology, physics, and nutrition departments, the College of Arts and Sciences Advising Center, and the School of Health and Human Sciences.
To have a competitive application, students should have experience shadowing physicians, volunteering or working in a medical or service setting, and extracurricular activities that show a history of service and leadership.
