Official transcripts from all previous institutions are required. If completion of the degree is in progress, submit a current transcript, followed by a final official transcript indicating degree received and date conferred upon enrollment. Preference is given to candidates with a 3.0/4.0 cumulative overall GPA or better.

  • Official GMAT/GRE Scores

Preference is given to candidates with a GMAT score greater than 500 or GRE score greater than 305 (excluding the Analytical Writing score). A GMAT/GRE waiver for qualified candidates is available (see the GMAT/GRE Waiver Policy below).

  • Two Professional References

Two professional references from former professors or supervisors who can evaluate your potential for graduate study are required.

  • Personal Essays

A personal statement in response to essay prompts specific to each program of study is required.

  • Professional Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)

A resume or CV including contact information, educational degrees and certificates, and employment and volunteer experience is required. Professional experience is preferred, particularly in the MBA programs; however, many candidates pursue an MBA immediately following undergraduate studies.

  • Additional Prerequisite Requirements for Master of Science in Accountancy (MAcc) Candidates

In addition to the above requirements, candidates for the MAcc program must have completed 18 credits in accounting before entering the program. Specifically, 3 credit hours in each of the following:

  3. Intermediate Accounting I
  4. Intermediate Accounting II
  5. Cost Accounting
  6. Auditing
  • Additional Requirements for International Candidates
In addition to the above requirements, international students are required to submit a TOEFL score of 90 (or above) or an IELTS score of 7 (or above) that is current within the past year. Upon arrival at Duquesne, international students are required to take the English Language Placement Tests. Depending on test results, international students may be enrolled in appropriate ESL courses.
