Program Curriculum

Course Structure

  1. The Professional Practice Architecture PgDip consolidates your existing skills and learning. You gain core legal, procedural, professional and managerial competencies.
  2. The PgDip is a prescribed qualification by the Architects Registration Board(ARB). The programme covers both ARB and Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) criteria for Part 3. It represents the attainment of the minimum level of competence expected of an architect registered in the UK.
  3. Successful completion of the course also offers admission to our MA in Professional Practice (Architecture) with advanced standing.
  4. Your primary learning environment is within practice with support from seminar sessions and scenario-based examples.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • ARB/RIBA Part 2 or exemption from it;
  • a minimum of 13 months of approved, logged experience, preferably in the UK;
  • a high level of commitment to the course and support from your employer; and
  • a good level of written and spoken English.

If you have completed your architectural education outside the UK, you will need to satisfy the Architects Registration Board (ARB) that your academic qualifications are the equivalent of ARB Part 2, before being admitted to the course.

All non-UK applicants must meet our English language requirements. For this course it is Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall, with special conditions in all elements.

English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
